Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SemaLiving.com (“SemaLiving,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) may collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit the site, read articles, click affiliate links, or join our email list.

This policy is written to cover common GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar privacy-law expectations. It is not legal advice. If SemaLiving later adds a dedicated privacy-management provider such as Termageddon, iubenda, or a consent-management platform, this page should be reviewed and updated.

Information we may collect

  • Information you provide: name, email address, message content, correction requests, partnership inquiries, newsletter signups, and other information you send us.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location, timestamps, and similar analytics data.
  • Email engagement data: signup source, email delivery, opens, clicks, unsubscribes, tags, and segments when provided by our email platform.
  • Affiliate attribution data: outbound link clicks, campaign IDs, affiliate IDs, referral URLs, timestamps, and related tracking data.

SemaLiving is an informational awareness website. Please do not send private medical records, insurance numbers, Social Security numbers, or emergency health information through the site.

Cookies and similar technologies

SemaLiving and third-party tools may use cookies, pixels, scripts, tags, local storage, and similar technologies. These tools may help the site remember preferences, measure traffic, understand content performance, detect spam or abuse, and track affiliate referrals.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Some features, analytics, email signup tracking, or affiliate attribution may not work correctly if cookies are blocked.

Affiliate tracking and pixels

SemaLiving may earn commissions when readers click affiliate links or sign up with partner companies. Affiliate links may include tracking parameters, cookies, pixels, or network tags that tell an affiliate partner or network that a visitor came from SemaLiving.

Affiliate partners and networks may process click, referral, purchase, signup, campaign, and commission data under their own privacy policies. SemaLiving may receive reporting data such as clicks, conversions, commission amounts, or campaign performance, but we do not receive your private medical records from affiliate tracking.

Email list: Kit / ConvertKit

If you subscribe to a SemaLiving email list, your email address and subscription activity may be processed by Kit, formerly known as ConvertKit, or a similar email service provider. This may include your signup form, tags, segments, delivery status, open/click activity, unsubscribe status, and consent records.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email. We may retain limited information for suppression lists, consent records, abuse prevention, and compliance.

Analytics: Google Analytics or equivalent

SemaLiving may use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Plausible, Fathom, Jetpack stats, WordPress analytics plugins, server logs, or equivalent analytics tools. These services may collect device, usage, pageview, referral, approximate location, and event data to help us understand how readers use the site.

If Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager is active, Google may process analytics data according to Google’s own terms and privacy policies. You can use browser settings, privacy extensions, cookie controls, or Google’s available opt-out tools to limit some tracking.

How we use information

  • Respond to messages, corrections, and partnership inquiries.
  • Send emails to subscribers who opt in.
  • Measure content performance and reader interest.
  • Track affiliate referrals, campaign performance, and commissions.

How we share information

We may share information with service providers and partners that help us run the site, including website hosting, WordPress plugins, analytics providers, email platforms, affiliate networks, spam/security tools, and professional advisors.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or security, to prevent abuse, or as part of a business transfer.

GDPR / UK GDPR rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a region with similar privacy rights, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection to certain processing, or withdrawal of consent where applicable.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to certain processing. Some requests may be limited by legal, security, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping obligations.

California CCPA / CPRA rights

California residents may have rights to know what personal information is collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared; request deletion; request correction; opt out of certain sale/sharing activities; limit certain sensitive personal information uses where applicable; and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

SemaLiving does not sell private medical records. However, affiliate tracking, advertising pixels, or analytics cookies may be considered “sharing” or targeted-advertising activity under some privacy laws. You can use cookie/browser controls and contact us to make a request.

Data retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including site operations, email suppression lists, analytics, affiliate reporting, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, and business records.

Children’s privacy

SemaLiving is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, but no website, email platform, or internet transmission is completely secure. Do not send sensitive medical, financial, or identity information through general contact channels.
